Youngsters nowadays are generally brought up being immersed in digital information via the Internet. Convenient as it seems, a growing concern is the authenticity and reliability of online information.
Serious and timely actions must be taken before any misleading information is spread among the young generation. To begin with, authorities concerned should enhance their supervision of the information published on the Internet. Information likely to misguide teenagers should never be allowed to go online. Moreover, related authorities should further trace the misleading information back to the publishers and inflict punishment on them. In addition, laws and regulations concerned should be enforced more effectively as a deterrent force. Last but not least, education – conducted by parents or teachers- in this respect plays a pivotal role in building young people's mindset of critical and independent thinking.
Undoubtedly, younger generations possess the potential of telling lies from truths. If they're equipped with the mindset of evaluating the reliability of information they come across online, frauds and sensationalists will not be able to cause any harm.
